For roommates
A chore rota that runs itself.
Spongi rotates the chores in your shared house, reminds whoever’s turn it is and gives the house one goal to hit each week. No whiteboard, no group-chat nagging.
Every shared house has this rota
-
The whiteboard rota.
Up to date for exactly one week, sometime in September.
-
Bin night.
Four people, one bin, and somehow it’s nobody’s turn.
-
The group chat.
“Whoever left the pan in the sink…” Read by everyone. Answered by nobody.
How Spongi runs the house
-
Rotation without the whiteboard
Turn on rotation and Spongi picks who’s up each time, so the bathroom doesn’t land on the same person twice in a row.

-
One goal for the house
Every chore earns points for effort. Hit 80% of the week’s goal together and the streak grows. A spare sponge covers exam week.
-
A Shameboard instead of notes on the fridge
Turn it on and late chores line up, with the name attached. They drop off the moment anyone does them. No passive-aggressive notes.
Free is for two people. Most shared houses are bigger, so you’ll want Premium: unlimited members, rotation and the Shameboard. One subscription covers the whole house. How you split the cost is up to you. Free vs Premium
Questions
Does everyone in the house need Premium?
No. One person subscribes and everyone in the household gets Premium.
Can people join and leave?
Yes. New housemates join with an invite link or QR code. When someone moves out, they leave the household and their chores can go to someone else.
What if a housemate doesn’t have an iPhone?
Spongi is iPhone-only for now, so housemates without one can’t join. Check that before your house picks a system.
How does rotation work?
For chores with rotation on, Spongi picks whose turn it is each time the chore comes up, so it moves around the house instead of sticking to one person.
Does the Shameboard name and shame people?
It lists chores, not people: “Bins · 2 days late · Tom”. A chore drops off as soon as anyone does it, and the Shameboard is off until your house turns it on.
